March 2008

Greetings in Christ! We have exciting news for you in this newsletter.

1. Stuart and Jill Briscoes Conferences

We thank the Lord for bringing Rev. Dr. Stuart Briscoe and his wife, Jill to Harvest Haven. Stuart will be speaking on “Brave Enough to Follow” (Mar. 31-April 2), followed by Jill speaking on “Prayer that Works” (April 3-5). These are conferences not to be missed! Please hurry and register. Those living near could come for the conferences without accommodation at Rm70/pax/conference. Come learn from their years of ministry and leadership all over the world. Many no doubt have read their books and used their Bible study materials, or searched in their website at www.tellingthetruth.org . Sit with them for meals and have a chat over a cup of tea! If you love their books you would love their persons even more! These conferences are specially arranged for you and with you in mind. Pray to come and be blessed in the process. Brochures can be downloaded from our website www.capernwray.com.my or call us for more information.

2. Basketball court

Harvest Haven has been in operation for about 10 months and opened its doors to more than 30 groups. The center caters for conferences, church camps, church planning committee meetings, family holidays, Alpha weekend getaway, and personal retreats. A nice swimming pool awaits you throughout the day and you might want to try swimming in the evening with the naturally warmed water! Our latest addition is the full size basketball court. This is a three-in-one court which could also be used for volleyball and futsal. We want to thank the Lord for providing the funds through our friends and supporters in Christ.

3. Multi-purpose Vehicle

There is a need for us to have a ministry vehicle where we can fetch our guests from the airport, or from the bus station. We thank the Lord that He provided a new MPV recently for this purpose through a brother. May the Lord  bless those who give so generously and sacrificially in support of His on going works.

4. Asian Practicum Intership Program (January 6-20)

This is the second Asian practicum led by Jason which had 6 interns from Capernwray Harbour going through the two weeks orientation at HH and learning different aspects of missions in Asian countries. Bruce Campbell, Loy and Paul gave their lectures. There is a tremendous potential in developing this program shown by the interest, zeal and benefits expressed by all the interns. Jason has been to various Torchbearers centers to introduce this program and should you be interested please contact him at jmartens@capernwray.ca .

5. Staff Needs

This is a great place to serve and minister and I would like to encourage you to pray about joining the staff as we have vacancies for an administrator and a housekeeper that can cook for the staff. We need lady staff to be able to counsel and talk with the lady guests, and to relief the other staff from doing the extras. Give us a call and talk with us if you feel led to serve here.

6. Malaysian General Election

Polling day is on March 8 for all Malaysians. Exercise your God-given right to vote. Pray for a fair and peaceful election, wise and mature voting, and open doors to sharing our Christian faith. May God raise up Christian politicians to impact the nation, and discharge their responsibilities without fear or favour for the glory of God and the blessings of all Malaysians.

Don’t forget to pray and consider coming for the conferences at Harvest Haven. We look forward to welcoming you here!

Much blessings in Christ who is our life,

John Lee
